Played a little today as well…not too much though as my as tenosynovitis in my right arm is killing me…oh well…a little less playing around with the iPad2 should help ease the situation…as far as playing today goes, I couldn’t get much going…ended the session with a slim profit…good enough for today…

Played a little today, played good…disappointing end when I got kicked in the junk in the final two sngs of the night…one I get it in with AQ vs AJ preflop and get kicked in the junk – so instead of having 6k of the 9k in play, I’m busto…in the other one I get it in four ways with AK preflop against…errm some “random hands”…and instead of having 17k (2nd in chips), I’m down to 4k and out the next hand…oh well…at least my HU SnGs kept me in the black for the session…so I can’t feel all that bad…I’m outtah here…

It’s been a while and the recap of this year’s play is still pending. For the time being, “inspired” by the WSOP, I redeposited a little something on PS and started playing a little.

My “plan” for this “comeback”:

1. Don’t sweat it
2. Just play small stakes when I feel like it
3. Play good

…let’s see how that “plan” works out…

First two sessions in the books and I think I played good (and was on the good side of a few coolers)…special thanks to one opponent who had about the same chance at winning against me as a snowball in hell…he just came back and melted again and again…loved it…

Can you believe that the first quarter of 2011 is already over again. Unreal…no, I’m not dead, neither is my poker playing…or well, it wasn’t until the beginning of this week. I grinded it up at both Full Tilt, Cake and PokerStars, but somehow my play went nowhere – as usual – and I tilted off some money here and there.

Now’s the time to take a break, I’ve got a holiday lined up (leaving for egypt tomorrow)…so I won’t be around the next two weeks…after that we’ll see where this poker thing takes me and if I’ll find the time to do a write up of the first 3 1/2 months of this year (trust me, I got dozens of nasty screenshots)…until then…good luck at the tables and remember: play good and have fun!

😆 😆 😆 Well played sir…

*lol*…poker has been treating me so and so, but the rake deal kept me well above break even. Then cake did what so many poker rooms before them have tried – and unfortunately succeeded – to do: they added degenerate gambling stuff like War and a Casino.

Sure enough I play a little. Then I played a little more…and in the end, well today, the old truth that the house always wins finally rang true. I blew the rest of my bankroll upping the stakes at Blackjack and naturally the dealer had like 8 BJs to my 1 BJ, beat my 20 with a 5 card 21…the works…oh well, my own fault for caving in to the temptation…so I’m officially busto a cake…I guess it’s time to step away once again and reevaluate my commitment to the game (which should include bankroll management, etc)…

That’s the one word description of today’s sessions. FUGLY. Name me a cooler and I’ll tell you that I ran into it. Most of those came in headsup play (KK vs AA, AK vs AA, etc), really brutal sometimes. Oh well…there’s always tomorrow 😉

From playing and running good to playing so-and-so and running “bad”…hehe…how fast poker does it. Oh well, all in all I’ll have to look at some of the hands again, but I can’t be too bummed despite dropping 220BB today and dropping the equivalent of another 139BB in SnGs…just some of these days where you got no chance in hell. Kings? Opponent Aces! You straight? Opponent bigger straight! You straight your opponent set? Board pairs! etc…

Still doing my thing, still grinding NL20 over at Cake, still loving it. That pretty much sums it up. I feel good, play good and might I say I still run good. I know that sooner or later reality will set in again, but honestly I don’t see myself running that much over ev, although PT3 is indicating otherwise (and honestly, 12.33BB/100 over the last 2.1k hands is pretty massive).

Why do I say that I don’t feel it? Because I can’t believe how often I will sit with the nuts (or close to it) and my opponent will either donkshove into the shiznuts, or pays off with less than stellar holdings (to say the least).

Anyway…I’m happy grinding out a profit again tonight…enjoy the pic dump and I’m outta here…

After poker has been kicking me in the junk over at both PokerStars and FullTilt – the latter kicking me in the junk rush style, quick and all the more painful – i had decided that I needed a break from poker.

Indeed I did take a break (June – August), time to reflect, figure out if I really wanted to continue this “hobby” at all. Sure enough, as you can see in this post, I came to the conclusion that, indeed, I wanted to continue, despite all the (small) highs and (big) lows.

This time I decided to go another route though. Bye bye Full Tilt, bye bye Stars, let’s see what else is out there. In the end I came across an interesting offer over at pokersavvy. A rakeback deal for cake poker, handing me back 33% of the rake. Cake, a site where traffic is not all that high (I’ve yet to see more than 5k ppl at any given time I played), but also a site without the PT3-HUD, etc.

All in all, I’m please with the results so far. Results? Why should they even matter? Well, because even if you don’t play “results oriented”, you gotta have some results or you’ll be busto. So far, I’ve managed to find my rhythm again, posting more winning than losing sessions, running “good” for once, etc. So I’m currently in my zone (NL20, 10$ SnGs, etc), where I enjoy the game and play every now and then – no pressure.
