2-7 is torture
After playing a few tourneys 2-7 NL Single Draw recently, I can appreciate the feat that Phil Ivey did by winning the 2-7 bracelet even more. Unbelievable that you can actually win such a tourney…where swings can be massive and the next cooler is just around the corner….that being said, I crippled myself once again after 1.5h+ putting it in with a pat 98…my opponent drawing one…of course he draws perfect to a 97….fucking a++…busted myself the next hand. Apart from that tourney I’ve played a little NL Hold’em and some PLO8…but no joy there either…just one of those days…I’m off…

DSs and the WSOP
Well, well, I’m back from cologne, so I’ll better post some pics of the last tourneys I played before I left. I played two Double Shootouts trying to qualify for the sunday million (and then unregister to get some dough to fuel a possible WSOP qualification). Didn’t work out that well though, yes, I won my first table in both cases, but I was unable to grab a seat. Disappointing, but at least I finished up a little thanks to the first one I played.
Anyway, I’m outta here following the WSOP at fine outlets like PokerNews and Dr. Pauly (Tao of Poker)…

Fucked again…
…what can I say, poker is a cruel bitch and pokerstars can lick my balls. The setup is perfect, I’m playing some damn good poker for over 2 hours in a 2-7 single draw NL MTT. I’m the massive chipleader with 50k+ chips and we’re down to nine players. Up and down for roughly an hour and I’m out in ninth place. What happened? Losing two monsterpots starting with a pat 86 each time and losing both (one to a pat 85, and one against an opponent drawing 1 to a 75 aka the nuts)…well done pokerstars. Obviously the money doesn’t matter to me at all in this tourney (first place 40.43$), I wanted to win so bad…but no…looking back at it I still can’t explain it. Two shorties should have been out a long time ago and I would have entered the final table with 1/3 of the chips. Instead I double up one shortstack and then go ahead and lose the two coolers described above. Fucking a++…
I’m outta here…and as I’ll take a little vacation to cologne with my footie team on friday, I won’t be back until monday anyway…and probably I won’t even play poker until next friday, when the next live home game will take place…maybe I can catch a break there…we’ll see…anyway…enough ranting…I’m tired…and outta here…

Come on pokerstars…just steal my money out of my account…
…it’s easier for both parties and it’ll save me the anger. But really, I feel cheated and stolen from yet again, don’t get me wrong, I finished the session up a little…but still it feels like someone stole dough from me. Out of the 4 full SnGs I was ITM in two of them, should have won one and finished 2nd at least in the other one…of course I finish second when the might 35s000000ted is enough to cripple me in the one where I have a monster chiplead…and I finish third in the other one…so fucking ugly…I’m outta here…monday is around the corner, so work is calling…poker I won’t miss you…

It’s starting to get old…
…so I’ll keep from rambling about how bad the session was and what-not…enjoy the pic dump which features the usual stuff…from coinflip to three outer…one for everyone…enjoy…and you won’t get a dollar from me… 😉

The comeback trail is long…
…dusty, and full of setbacks. After my recent run at the tables, I’ve decided to drop down a notch in an effort to rebuild the near extinct mess that used to be a bankroll. Back to my favourite poison from back in the day, I tried to grind it out at some 6max SnGs over the last week or so. Poker playing time has been sparse, but I’ve managed to squeeze in a quick 1k hands here and there. Four tabling 6 max SnGs let’s you do this easily. I didn’t even bother to take screenshots tonight, the ones below are from last week where I still cared if I got beat or not, if a big draw came in or not (the latter was mostly the case)…tonight I just focused on my game, playing one hand at a time and trying to make quality decisions.
I can honestly say that I can’t find a weak spot in my decision making tonight…well, maybe in one or two spots where folding a few more hands on the bubble would have been an option, but really, why should I even think about folding a hand with 12-16+ outs twice when I’m playing to win? Basically it all came down to hitting/missing draws and winning/losing coinflips tonight. Hit some draws, hit some coinflips…lost most of them though and so it’s really hard to make it. Playing three sets of 4 SnGs I finished [3,2,2,2] [1,5,5,2] and [5,3,3,4]…tough…but what can I do…I’m pleased with my performance tonight despite dropping a few bucks to the grinder-pool…oh well…better flipping/drawing next time…

Yeah, yeah…
The break didn’t last that long…surprise…and surprise surprise…I came back with a winning session….it seems that poker, like any other poison, keeps sucking you in…giving you what you want…before finally kicking you in the junk again…oh well…I’ll take the result for the night…played 12 6-max sngs…finished ITM 7 times (4Ws, 3 2nds)…enjoy the random pic dump…I’m off to catch some sleep…

Screwjob + bad play + tilt = ?
Yup…pretty much that equals disaster…oh well…before my head explodes I had to vent in the chat a little…I wonder when they will finally strip my chat away…oh well…doesn’t matter anyway…I’ll take another break as I can’t take another screwjob, bad run and bs…I’m outta here…

Persistence
Well, almost two weeks since my last efforts to have some “fun” at the online gamb00ling thing. The break was good for me, but once I logged on for the first time again pokerstars didn’t make it easy on me. I suffered some fugly coolers and beats early on and I was on the verge of going on stone cold tilt and really dusting it off. Good thing for me that I kept my shite in order and was able to comeback. Once I won the final headsup match (flopping quads), I knew I had it made for the day and logged off immediately. Now I’ll enjoy some quite time/sleep…long weekend of relaxing ahead of me (easter…so tomorrow and monday are bank holidays, wheee)…gl at the tables…

Close but no cigar
Nope, still no return to online pohka…but there was a home game tonight. Wheeee. First the first bbq of the new year…yummy…then some good ole poker action. Eleven new and old donks saddled up and over 3 hours we were in the money (top three). I was sitting second in chips after coming to the final table with roughly 4BB. But still, the chipleader was a mile away. I put away player number three when he limped in the SB…I looked down at snowmen in the BB and it was an easy shove for me. He thought about it for a bit, but there was no real possibility there for him to fold, he was already commited with the limp and the huge blinds. So he called with K2o promptly flopping a king…the turn brought one of the remaining eights to leave him drawing dead – just to rub it in the dealer peeled off a King on the river giving me the boat to his three kings.
Headsup was a quick afair. Three hands in we got it all in the middle – the blinds were huge and I was at a 1:5 chip-deficit, so when my opponent shoved on the button I only had to look at one card…it was a King and I snap-called. My K9o wasn’t in that bad a shape, he showed A6o…and Ace on the flop was enough to hold me off so I took second place. Not bad the way I’ve been running recently (on- and offline)…so I’ll take it, a good evening with friends, nice bbq and some pohka…I like…alrighty…that’s all for now…I’m outta here, time to catch some sleep. Good luck at the tables…and cya next time…
